Planning Horizon

Main information about planning horizons registered in the system is stored in the Planning Horizons (hrm_planning_horizon) table. A planning horizon is a period of time given for achieving a certain goal, for example, hiring staff.

Roles required:

  • Read – all users with access to the HR category of the Service Catalog.
  • Create, update – hrm_admin.

Create a planning horizon


To create a new planning horizon, complete the following steps:

  1. In the agent interface, navigate to Human Resource Management (HRM)RegistersPlanning Horizons.
  2. Click New in the upper-left corner of the page and fill in the required fields.
  3. Click Save or Save and exit to apply the changes.

Planning Horizon form fields

TitleYSpecify a title for the planning horizon, for example, March 2025.
Horizon lengthYSelect a length for the planning horizon. Available options:
  • Week
  • Month
  • Quarter
  • 6 months
  • Year
  • Custom
Start dateYSpecify the planning horizon start date.
End dateYSpecify the planning horizon end date.
ActiveNThe checkbox is selected by default. Clear the checkbox to deactivate the record. If the checkbox is selected, the record is available for selection in the dictionary on other forms.
  • Planning Horizons for Tables – the list contains the tables where this planning horizon is used.

To add the planning horizon as an available option on a table form, complete the following steps:

  1. In the agent interface, navigate to Planning Horizons and open the required planning horizon record.
  2. Open the Planning Horizons for Tables related list and click New.
  3. Click the icon to open the dictionary and specify the required table.
  4. Click Save or Save and exit to save the changes.

Planning horizons for tables


The Planning Horizons for Tables (hrm_planning_horizon_for_table) table contains a list of records with relationships among the Tables (sys_db_table) records and the Planning Horizons (hrm_planning_horizon) records.
