Versions and Patches of Traffic Light Scorecard

Patch 1.0.1

In this patch, we have improved the TFL report interface and added an option to select months when setting the report period.

Updated report interface

We have adjusted the way TFL report elements are displayed and arranged. Now you can also display the Total column to make reports more illustrative and easier for analyzing the report results.

For this purpose, we have made the following modifications to the report interface:

  • The monitoring cells now include the number of KPIs added to the cell.
  • Added a button that enables the Total column containing the final result for all monitoring cells included in the report, per each monitoring object.
  • Corrected the behavior of the monitoring cell side-menu. Now, when the menu is opened, the report is automatically moved to the left and remains fully visible.
  • Revised the layout of the monitoring cell view window for a more compact and convenient data presentation.
  • Changed positions of the Name and Metric fields in the modal windows of creating and editing a KPI.

Month select when setting the report period

We have added the ability to select specific months when setting the report period, allowing users to view TFL reports by month or by year.

See documentation to learn more about the updated interface.

Version 1.0.0

We are happy to announce the first release of the Traffic Light Scorecard product extension on the SimpleOne platform. The extension is an ESM platform tool for monitoring activities against a set of measurable goals and corresponding key performance indicators (KPIs) for any business product from the SimpleOne line.

To create a measurement and evaluation system using Traffic Light Scorecards, you need to:

  • Define the goals that form the system. They should be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound.
  • (optional) Identify the critical success factors of your activity. These factors will be supported with the KPIs formed in the Traffic Light Scorecards.

The tool is implemented as the Traffic Light Scorecard Report widget. With this widget, you can convert metrics into KPIs with minimum and target values, and a time period for the report generation.

The report is a summary table that shows the qualitative state of the monitoring object using red, yellow, and green colors. They allow managers to quickly assess the quality of work and the achievement of goals by the monitoring objects.

To display a balanced scorecard:

  1. Create metric data sources. Sources are tables with data that will be used to build metrics.
  2. Create metrics. Metrics are measurable values that characterize monitoring objects.
  3. Create a traffic light scorecard record indicating the monitoring objects, specifying indicator limits and report frequency.
  4. From the traffic light scorecard record, go to the report page and set up a KPI based on metrics for each monitoring object.

After completing all the steps, you will be able to calculate the balanced scorecard for monitoring objects.

An example of using traffic light scorecard is the SLAM Chart service quality report in the ITSM application. For clarity, we created a demo data package based on the ITSM product. The extension also complements any business product on the platform (ITAM, SDLC, B2B CRM, and other).
